i am a sound designer and re-recording mixer for motion pictures by profession, but the focus of this website is my work as a visual, performing and recording artist, specifically:
-
•composing and recording pieces of ‘organized sound’, a kind of experimental organic electroacoustic ambient music concréte
-
•my work as a session musician, recording engineer and producer in the san francisco bay area music community
-
•my mid-80’s super-underground pop band, eyeland, and it’s earlier incarnation, riis spargo
-
•designing sound installations; compositions and constructions for galleries and abandoned spaces where the visitors move themselves through the piece of music
-
•a little something from my years working for rex probe and sound transform systems, building the legendary serge modular analog synthesizer
-
•examples of some of my visual art: monoprints, ink drawings, pinhole and polaroid photos, watercolors and collage
-
•a few of my short experimental films
-
•the spooky ‘language art’ and spoken word i create with my friends mark neville and ron crotty, and more recently with steve romanko
-
•and a bit of ramble about my tastes in books, music, film, art and culture; all the typical ‘personal website’ stuff, really - except flash animation - i don’t do flash animation
as with much of the world wide web, this project is under continuing development, and has been published to the server as a “work-in-progress” - some pages will have incomplete content - i’m sure you understand.
perhaps you’ll find something interesting scattered throughout. thank you for visiting, and enjoy your time on the internet.
